Caring for Families

Helping the Latino community means feeling my family close, it is my opportunity to serve Hispanics who, like me, have been considered essential to the country. For me it is important to be present when the family needs it, and in the pandemic we all need each other, we all suffer from it. Life is the most unfortunate loss, but it is not the only thing, we still carry physical, emotional and economic consequences.
For this reason, I loved being part of the programs that were carried out during this period, initiatives to find potential beneficiaries and register them, disseminate information, answer requests for help, deliver resources, participate in affective health programs, etc.
"Thank God I stayed healthy while the community needed me, I participated in different programs in all kinds of conditions and climates and for that I am grateful for this opportunity to share a little of my story.
I keep preparing myself because I want to stay ready for the next project that benefits my American brothers of Latino and Hispanic origin and immigrants just like me."
Supporting people in isolation or quarantine was crucial in slowing the spread of the virus. We provide vital support through our family helpline, ensuring that families are informed about preventative measures and hygiene practices. We closely monitor positive cases, keep records, and provide follow-up support as needed. Our team also attended to economic and nutritional needs, offering emotional support during these difficult times. We continually update information on hospital resources and healthcare to keep our community informed.
"It was an opportunity to help essential workers, for me it was important to see the response for a community that until now was taken into account. To come to their aid in times of crisis, the most hospitalized and also Latinos are the ones who reported the most deaths and disabilities."
